UFC FIGHT NIGHT – BURNS BESTS WOODLEY

Posted by Ramon Gonzales in Active on May 30, 2020

With most of the sporting world on pause, the UFC continues to charge ahead, providing a regular schedule of competitive programming. Saturday night’s welterweight showdown, the fourth UFC event in the last month, featured number one contender Tyron Woodley and the ascending star, Gilbert “Durinho” Burns.

Saturday might have officially marked Burns’ arrival in the division. The five-round bout was lopsided affair, with Burns quickly establishing the pace in the first round and never relenting. Woodley got touched in the first round and never figured out how to rebound. Burns earned a convincing decision (50-45, 50-44, 50-44) and punctuated his performance by calling out his teammate and divisional champion, Kamaru Usman.

Complete fight results below.
