Hear Corey Taylor intro Zillakami’s solo album debut, Dog Boy

The quick cameo from The Great Big Mouth bolsters the caustic hip hop assault that features from Denzel Curry and Lil Uzi Vert.

Hip hop aggressor and City Morgue conspirator Zillakami is continuing his connection with Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor with the release of his highly-anticipated solo album, Dog Boy.

Though the special guest spot happened with little spectacle, Corey Taylor’s voice can be heard introducing the album – “This is Corey Taylor and you’re turning into Dogboy Radio,”Taylor says in a snippet that precedes the album’s opener, “Chewing Gum”.

The connection between the City Morgue fire starter and Taylor dates back a few years now, as Taylor has expressed his bing a fan of the Zilla’s confrontational swag. With a mutual respect, Zillakami has cited Slipknot as a influence on his own creative development, making an appearance in the “CMFT Must Be Stopped” video and even getting tattooing Taylor with is Iowa-era mask.

Zilla has regularly discussed is lean toward heavy, guitar driven music. In a 2019 XXL interview, the standout talked about how hip hop wasn’t even something he leaned into until later in his teenage years. Zilla explained, “I grew up listening to Gorilla Biscuits, Agnostic Front, shit like that. Later, my friend put me on to nu-metal, so I was listening to Slipknot, Korn and all that bullshit. That’s basically all I grew up on.”

Dog Boy is currently available now and in addition to the Taylor cameo features guest assists from the likes of heavyweights Denzel Curry and Lil Uzi Vert. Stream the album’s intro into “Chewing Gum” below.
