The NBA-standout showcases his love for comic books with a Spider Man sneaker.
Championing the personal mantra, “Determination Over Negativity,” NBA superstar Donovan Mitchell has christened his signature shoe from Adidas, the ‘D.O.N.”.
Showcasing his personal affinity for comic book culture, the first installment of the second release from the partnership is a collaboration with Marvel.
Paying tribute to Spider Man, the D.O.N. issue #2 features a bold green and red color way with text hits like “Pow!” and “Boom” on the sole. The laces on this shoe actually spell out, “Spidey-Sense.” Considering the superhuman numbers Mitchell contributes to the Utah Jazz, the Spider Man correlation makes sense in more ways then one.
The second installment of the same shoe arrives in the fall and functions as a proper tribute to Mitchell’s mothers, an elementary school teacher. Partnering with Crayola, the “Banana Mania,” “Sky Blue” and “Jazzberry Jam,” colorways also feature the Crayola logo on the tongue. “Free to Create” is stretched across the laces, reiterating the kind of positivity that is at the core of all that Mitchell does.
The Marvel, Spider Man version of the D.O.N. Issue #2 will be available August 28th. The Croyola version of the sneaker will be available October 9th.
