Body Count shares fan-created music video for the track, “The Hate Is Real”

Soliciting submissions from fans for a new music video, Body Count gave 25-year old NY filmmaker Seby Martinez the green light for his visual interpretation of the cut from ‘Carnivore’

Body Count made headlines when the band announced they were launching an intuitive that would give an aspiring filmmaker the chance to make the band’s next music video for their single from Carnivore, ‘The Hate Is Real”.

Awarding the winner with not only a cash prize in addition to the lofty resume credit, Body Count has finally found who they chose to give the visual interpretation of the song. At all of 25-years old, aspiring NY filmmaker Seby Martinez was given the nod by the metal OGs for his directorial effort.

On paper, a treatment that includes puppets addressing such heavy thematic weight as systemic racism and social inequality might not be the most reverent approach, but Martinez’s ability to take an unconventional visual approach pays off with video that is both entertaining and reverent of the song’s potent message.

Body Count also recently made news as the band took home top honors at the 63rd annual Grammy Awards for their “Best metal Performance” for the track “Bum-Rush” from the same Carnivore LP. The win is the band’s first on Century Media Records.
