The single lands just a month ahead of the band’s U.S. run with Fit For Any Autopsy, Orbit Culture, and Vended.
Following their recent conquest of the inaugural Knotfest Germany under heavy music’s undisputed nine in Slipknot, melodic metal veterans In Flames have flexed another example of the Swedish signature with the unveiling of a new single, “The Great Deceiver”.
The track adds to the charge leading into In Flames’ upcoming U.S. tour set to begin next month with Fit For An Autopsy, Orbit Culture, and Vended. “The Great Deceiver” also marks the second single release as many months, following the debut of “Slow State of Decay” which landed just last month. The track was coupled with the announcement of the band’s Fall tour and ushered in the band’s new era with Nuclear Blast Records.
As for “The Great Deceivers”, in addition to the sonic heft of the single that further asserts the band’s unmistakable prowess, the track also speaks to the current era of divisiveness that seems to be all too prevalent. A sentiment that further fuels the band’s aggression and angst.
“‘The Great Deceiver’ was born out of frustration — basically a reaction to false flags. But since then, it has grown to represent several meanings,” the band explains. “There’s a line that says ‘Bend the truth to fit your opinion,’ and we feel that speaks a lot to the narrative happening online, between people, and nations, etc., today. We are more apart now than ever before yet it’s easier to communicate than in any other time in history.”
In Flames begin their U.S. tour this September. All dates are below. VIP packages are also available – HERE. Stream “The Great Deceivers” from In Flames below.
