Fans can cast their vote online through April 30th for the ‘Fan ballot’ that will be considered for the 2021 class.

The nomination list for 2021 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was announced on February 10th. Of the 16 artists included in the field, 7 are first time nominees including Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters, Jay-Z, Fela Kuti, The Go-Go’s, Carole King, and Dionne Warwick.

Among the more interesting talking points from this year’s field include the Dave Grohl’s potential to be a twice inducted artist. If Foo Fighters get the nod, Grohl will have the distinction of being in the HoF for his work with both Nirvana and with Foo Fighters.

Nirvana was inducted into the HoF in 2014.

The criteria to earn a nomination stipulate that an artist must have a commercial release that is at least 25 years old. The Rock and Rock Hall of Fame is again giving fans the chance to cast their own ballot with the “Rock Hall Fan Vote”. The artists that earn the most votes will comprise a “fan ballot” in a field of five that will be considered in tandem with the vote of the selection committee made up of artists, journalists, historians, and industry professionals.

The fan vote is currently active and will run through the end of April. The 2021 field will be announced in May with the official induction ceremony happening in the Fall. Vans can vote – HERE.

The 2020 Class of inductees included Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., T-Rex, The Doobie Brothers, and Whitney Houston.
