The 648-page book will feature hundreds of never before published photos chronicling the band’s half-century career.

Heavy metal forefathers Judas Priest have announced their first-ever official book entitled, Judas Priest – 50 Heavy Metal Years.

The hardbound, coffee table book is a 648-page retrospective featuring content curated by the band’s long-time photographer Ross Halfin along with the band’s manager Jayne Andrews and David Silver.

“I’ve photographed Judas Priest from 1978 until now,” Halfin says, “and of all the bands I’ve worked with they are one of the most enjoyable to me — you have to love the mighty Priest.”

Referenced as a photo documentary of the band’s unparalleled career, the book will feature hundreds of unseen, never published photos from accomplished rock photographers Ross Halfin, Neil Zlozower, Mark Weiss, Fin Costello, and Oliver Halfin. Respected journalist Mark Blake provides the context to frame the historical importance of the photos on the page.

Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton explained the significance of the book. “We spearheaded the visual image of metal — breathing new life into it, and it has been captured forever in the pages of this book.”

There will be four different editions of the book available. The standard version, the deluxe version, as well as the “Epic Leather and Metal Edition.” The premium edition is a special charity edition, limited only to 100, blue-foil covered copies of which the proceeds will benefit the Glenn Tipton Parkinson’s Foundation.
