Coupled with the new single and the announcement of their pending April 1st EP Lowest Form of Animal, the band recently got a hell of cosign from actress Kate Beckinsale.
It’s been an eventful last few days for hardcore hitters Kublai Khan TX. The band made the news of their next recorded effort official with the introduction of their forthcoming Rise Records EP Lowest Form of Animal, set for April 1st.
Coupled with the news of the EP, the band delivered an absolute drubbing with the unveiling of the single “Swan Song”. Enlisting genre compatriot Scott Vogel of veteran outfit Terror, the track unloads the kind of offensive that explodes on record and will no doubt decimate the floor when executed live.
Added to the instrumental intensity of the track is the bleak backbone loaded in the lyrics. Utilizing stylized narrative, the band breaks down the grim real-life underbelly of a global tragedy. The band’s vocalist Matthew Honeycutt explains.
“‘Swan Song’ re-tells many of life’s harshest realities — both from afar and close to home. Seeing the mental and physical damage of the sex trade in every corner and pocket of the USA — most remaining nameless and unsung. For what it’s worth, we seek to share a single story: To reflect the thousands of lives lost in the unforgiving system that operates, unrelentingly, day and night.”
The single follows the band’s EP preview that arrived late 2021 in “Resentment” – another scorcher that underscores how sonic violence can be such a visceral experience when executed with the kind of authenticity that comes standard with Kublai Khan TX.
Bolstering the news of the Rise Records EP and the latest single, the band got an interesting cosign over the weekend from Hollywood’s A-list. Famed heroine of the Underworld film franchise Kate Beckinsale along with designer and actress Nina Kate shared a post to Instagram in honor of Galentine’s Day that featured the ladies spending some time with coloring books whilst soaking in some tunes courtesy of Kublai Khan TX’s “The Hammer”. The visual is all kinds of rad with Beckinsale sharing, “Absolutely Galentineing the fuck out of Sunday.”
Kublai Khan TX will return to the road at the end of next month with Knocked Loose, Movements, and Koyo. The tour kicks off March 31st in Nashville, TN with the latest EP, Lowest Form of Animal arriving the very next day.
