Listen to HEALTH team with Nine Inch Nails on the daringly dark “Isn’t Everyone”

The band emphatically states, “It’s fucking Nine Inch Nails. That speaks for itself. You don’t need a clever quote to encapsulate it.”

HEALTH have teamed with Nine Inch Nails in a collaboration that seems long overdue for the track, “Isn’t Everyone.”

The brilliant pairing on the track, which almost feels like a ceremonial passing of the torch, is featured on the second installment of HEALTH’s DISCO4 series. Last year, HEALTH released DISCO4:: Part 1, which featured a collection of their collaborations dating back to 2017.

The most recent offering in the co-produced effort with Nine Inch Nails boasts Reznor helming the vocals on the track, with Atticus Ross handling the mixing duties. HEALTH exuded the kind of enthusiasm that would be expected from such a no-brainer of a collaboration. “It’s fucking Nine Inch Nails. That speaks for itself. You don’t need a clever quote to encapsulate it.”

Discussing the project with documentarian David Farrier, the band shared that the idea of working with Nine Inch Nails on a track came about as a result of piecing together the songs for DISCO4:: Part 1 and why they favor the collaborative environment. “It really gets you out of any pitfalls of repetition of your own work. You have less time to be precious about things because you are working with someone else,” HEALTH’s Jake Duzsik explained.

Duzsik continued, “And so part of the conversation the whole time is ‘it would be fucking amazing to do one of these with Nine Inch Nails’. Which given the amount of demand for Trent [Reznor] and Atticus’ [Ross] work as composers now – it’s crazy.”

The release marks the first showing of new music from Nine Inch Nails since their pair of 2020 releases in Ghosts V: Together and Ghosts VI: Locusts. “Isn’t Everyone” is currently available – HERE
