The LA punk OGs continue their collaborative effort with globally renowned artists and announce plans to trek with Rancid and Dropkick Murphys later this year.
Continuing their steady unveiling of the sixth full length studio effort in The Bronx VI, the LA-based OGs have debuted the very first music video from the project with their latest rouser, “Curb Feelers”.
Enlisting the visual talents of renowned photographer, videographer, and cultural documentarian Estevan Oriol, the track embraces a garage aesthetic complete with vocalist Matt Caughthran’s head in a vice grip and the guys draped in greasy coveralls.
Discussing the significance of the single, the band’s frontman details just why the band chose this track for the first music video of the album. “Every Bronx record has a backbone track, a sonic anchor that sets the tone for the entire album. ‘Curb Feelers’ is the rock that the rest of the record breaks itself against.” Recently debuting via Daniel Carter’s BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, “Curb Feelers” managed to earn the “Rockest Record” title, further building the anticipation of the August 27th release.
The rollout for Bronx VI is ambitious to say the least. Each of the 11 tracks on the album are being issued as a limited-edition 7-inch single releases. Adding to the weight of the project, The Bronx partnered with a comprehensive roster of artists for the series of single releases, featuring collection artwork from the likes of DabsMyla, Brian Montoiri and Jeremy Dean.
The latest “Curb Feelers” 7-inch features Estevan Oriol’s iconic photography. The single is currently available via the band’s webstore.
In addition to the continued charge of the Bronx VI, the band has also announced touring plans alongside Rancid and the Dropkick Murphys for a U.S. tour. The Bronx will join the the punk rock caravan on Aug. 10 in Minnesota and close out with a hometown appearance on Oct. 16 at The Shrine in Los Angeles. The run will also see The Bronx featured on this year’s Riot Fest (Sept. 18) and Punk Rock Bowling (Sept. 25) weekender.
