The ‘Mega Monsters’ North American Tour features a massive co-headlining bill pairing Gojira and Mastodon

Posted by Ramon Gonzales in News on January 17, 2023

The first and second legs of the arena /amphitheater-sized engagement will include standouts Lorna Shore as support.

Just halfway into the first month of 2023 and we may already have a potential tour of the year candidate. Two of the biggest names in the game in French powerhouse Gojira have teamed with the wall of sound that is Mastodon for a North American tour appropriately titled, The Mega Monsters Tour.

The first leg of the tour is slated to begin mid-April and span some 17 cities before wrapping on May 11th in Reading, PA. The second leg will resume in the summer, starting August 9th in Cincinnati, OH, adding an additional 18 cities before punctuating the tour on September 2nd in Denver, CO.

The co-headliners of the tour will both be out in support of their respective 2021 full length submissions – with Gojira trekking in support of Fortitude while Mastodon will be sharing cuts from the universally-praised, Hushed and Grim.

Adding to the weight of the mega-bill, Mega Monsters will also include an opening set from the arguable MVP of 2022 in Lorna Shore. The deathcore sensation who established themselves as one of heavy music’s most exciting, emerging names, released their hugely-anticipated full length Pain Remains late last year to wide acclaim.
