The release arrives April 1st via Atomic Fire and is the first collection of new music since 2016’s The Violent Sleep of Reason.
It has been six long years since the world experienced the raw power of new Meshuggah. Regarded as pioneers, elite in their ability to transcend genre and the conventional, the band has confirmed an April 1st arrival date for their ninth and arguably most complex show of force to date.
Following the sweeping success of 2016’s The Violent Sleep Of Reason, Meshuggah has declared an emphatic statement with the introduction of, Immutable.
Guitarist Mårten Hagström remained shared how Meshuggah’s approach in their craft remains steadfast and hits like a sledgehammer. “The title fits perfectly for where we are as a band,” Hagström explains. “We’re older now. Most of us are in our fifties now, and we’ve settled into who we are. Even though we’ve been experimenting all along, I also think we’ve been the same since day one. The way we approach things and why we still make new albums, and why we still sound the way we do, it’s immutable. Humanity is immutable, too. We commit the same mistakes over and over. And we are immutable. We do what we do, and we don’t change.”
Among Sweden’s most championed exports, Meshuggah instantly established their meld of power and prowess with 1995’s Destroy Erase Improve and have since gone onto be trailblazers in the universe of tech-metal, progressive and mathcore. Noted for their technicality, their intricacy and an unquestionable ability to redefine heavy, new music from Meshuggah doesn’t come often – but always well worth the wait.
The band is currently steering fans to their social channels to sign up for email updates and exclusive offers regarding the upcoming album Immutable.
The ninth album from Meshuggah arrives April 1st via Atomic Fire with pre-orders beginning January 28th.
