The long-awaited arrival of the longform trailer for the Better Noise Records segue into film with The Retaliators have finally landed. With news of the project first surfacing in 2019, the feature length flick from Better Noise Films has been touted as the acting debut for Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach and features plenty of on-screen appearances from Better Noise Records’ artists including Tommy Lee, Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch, and Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills just to name a few.
The CEO of Better Noise Records in Allen Kovac explained how the transition into film has created a unique platform that bridges world of music with that of film and television, creating a synergy that only compliments one another.
“Music and film create powerful emotional connections with audiences that go even deeper when combined with social media, radio and touring,” Kovac shared. “As shown by Rocket Man, Bohemian Rhapsody and The Dirt, social media, music streaming, radio and touring drive those connections even deeper, creating three to five-fold increases in music consumption which, in turn, drives back to film and video.”
The horror-thriller sources the harrowing real-life ordeal of the younger sister of screenwriters Darren and Jeff Geare. Back in 2004, Jody Geare was brutally assaulted, though managed to survive the attack by fighting off the assailant and climbing out of a 20-foot ravine. It wasn’t until 12 years later, through DNA evidence that the perpetrator was convicted for the crime. It was then that the Geare Brothers began penning a revenge-service for grieving family members – ultimately creating the inception of what would become The Retaliators.
The synopsis of the film reads,
In THE RETALIATORS, an upstanding pastor uncovers a dark and twisted underworld as he searches for answers surrounding his daughter’s brutal murder. A high-octane original soundtrack and cameos from some of the biggest names in rock music set the tone as this horror-thriller reveals a game of revenge played using a new set of rules. Michael Lombardi (Rescue Me), Marc Menchaca (Ozark), and Joseph Gatt (Game of Thrones) star. The film was co-directed by Bridget Smith and Samuel Gonzalez Jr., with Michael Lombardi who plays the lead character in John Bishop also serving as a director of several of the film’s scenes. The film is set to arrive in theaters on September 14th. The original motion picture soundtrack includes cuts from Papa Roach, The Hu, Asking Alexandria, Five Finger Death Punch, Nothing More, Bad Wolves, Tommy Lee and many more.
