The Swedish metallic circus unleashes new music and adds standout support to their upcoming 2023 European run.
Swedish theatric metal enigma Avatar have debuted new music with the release of their most recent, mammoth single, “Valley of Disease”. The track reveals the first showing of new music since the arrival of the standalone single, “Cruel and Unusual” which landed earlier this year.
Avatar has unleashed a steady succession of impactful singles spanning 2021, interspersed well into a busy a 2022. Tracks including “Going Hunting“, “Barren Cloth Mother“, “So Sang the Hollow“, “Construction of Souls” were added to the band’s prolific pace, as 2022 brought on a consistent run of the road with Avatar touring on their own headlining run with Light the Torch, a supporting stadium run with the indomitable Iron Maiden in South America and an arena jaunt with war-heavy collective, Sabaton.
Now, Avatar have submitted another showing from their pending ninth studio album with “Valley of Disease” showcasing the band’s creative muscle and metallic heft. Vocalist Johannes Eckerström offer a cryptic take on the direction of the new single. “There is a sickness, a stranger, and a harmful way,” says Eckerström. “A twisted landscape untouched by the sun. I leave the rest up to either you or me, but never both at the same time. You can only enter this place alone, and my path isn’t yours. Your secret is safe with me, but so is mine.”
In addition to the arrival of new music, Avatar have confirmed a strong supporting line up for their Europe and UK run of tour dates slated to begin in February of 2023. The Dance Devil Dance Tour will include supporting sets from the likes of Veil of Maya, Kassogtha and Mastiff. The 26-date run begins February 18th in Manchester, UK and wraps March 31st in Karlsruhe, GR. Tickets and dates can be found – HERE
