The dark music gamechangers of Twin Temple have released a brand new track in both English and Spanish with “Let’s Have a Satanic Orgy”. The Spanish version, “Tengamos La Orgía Satánica,” boasts a reconfiguration of the lyrics that work well with the track’s stylistic motif.
Embracing elements of latin rhythms, jazzy swank and their signature sultry vocal delivery, Alexandra and Zachary James execute a seductive show of skill that sees the duo take matters into their own hands entirely.
Zachary shared the significance of the single in being a project completed solely between he and Alexandra – from concept to execution. “Unlike the 24-hour live session with the band,” explains James, “this time we played every instrument ourselves (other than the saxophone) as well as produced, engineered and mixed the record ourselves.”
The songwriter added how the track retains the band’s unique sonic identity, “We still kept everything analog and one take to give it a raw feel, but it was just the two of us in the studio together doing everything. It allowed us to expand the sounds and gave us the freedom to add more instrumentation. We always like to stir the cauldron and change things up, and we were excited about challenging ourselves in this evil new way.”
Alexandra further detailed the influences that are apparent on the track, “We love Latin music. It’s an integral part of early Doo-Wop and a huge influence on us. This latest single is us continuing to explore that concept and sound in our own blasphemous way, of course. We chose to have a flip cover for the 7” as opposed to having an A-Side and B-Side so that the Spanish and English versions are equal. They’ll be released simultaneously as well, to reflect that equality.”
The duo is currently anchoring the opening spot on the arena co-headlining run with Ghost and Volbeat. Twin Temple have a busy 2022, joining Ghost and Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats for a European arena tour in addition to confirmed appearances at international festivals, Download, Hellfest, and Graspop.
