The sixth annual celebration of heavy culture will feature a full night of stellar performances showcasing a broad stylistic spectrum.
With the campaign for the sixth installment of the Heavy Music Awards already well underway, the cultural champions behind the celebration have announced the live performance portion of the production slated for June 5th at London’s historic O2 Forum Kentish Town.
Set to hold court in front of a capacity crowd of some 2,400 fans and passionate heavy community members, the ceremony will honor the elite among alternative culture. Spanning some 11 various categories highlighting important artistic contributions, The Heavy Music Awards remains the the only independent, purely democratic, and entirely fan-driven entity of it’s kind.
Punctuating what already has the makings of a monumental evening, The Heavy Music Awards has sourced a roster of diverse, dynamic performances that not only showcase a broad stylistic landscape, but also underscores the robust health of heavy culture as a whole.
Tasked with kicking off the performance portion of the evening, Leeds standouts Static Dress will unleash their energized live show. Earning acclaim for their audacious artistry both sonically and visually, the band’s live translation will no doubt reiterate why they have notched nominations for Best UK Breakthrough Artist in both 2021 and 2022.
Pop-punk practitioners Meet Me @ The Altar continue their meteoric ascent as one of the most discussed outfits in their respective lane. Having become a fixture among festival line-ups and editorial features, the band has amassed an impressive swell of momentum, and has yet to unload their full length debut. They are also up for a second consecutive year as Best International Breakthrough Artist.
Acclaimed Welsh unit Holding Absence delivered one of the highlights of the HMA20 live stream broadcast and have continued that vertical trajectory since. The band’s 2021 sophomore effort, The Greatest Mistake Of My Life received high praise universally as one of the year’s best and has catapulted the band to new heights in the hierarchy of rock music’s most promising prospects. The band will celebrate their Best Album of the Year nod with a highly-anticipated live set.
Anchoring the ceremony, powerhouse metalcore outfit Beartooth showcase selections from their lauded 2021 full length, Below. Tallying nominations in both the Best Album of the Year as well as Best International Artist, the band’s prowess and power will be on full display O2 Forum Kentish Town – providing the proper crescendo to what will be a historic evening.
The 2022 Heavy Music Awards are live June 5th and will be hosted by Kerrang! Radio’s Alex Baker. The event is powered by Amazon Music UK and welcomes their official party partner in FIreball Whiskey.
Voting for HMA22 is currently open at vote.heavymusicawards.com and closes at 5pm on April 22nd.
All voters will be entered into a ballot for tickets to the ceremony on Sunday June 5th, 2022 at O2 Forum Kentish Town, London. No tickets to the event will be sold.
