Film director Nicholas Gomez hosts special guests for a virtual celebration of the beloved bassist’s life and musical legacy.
February 10th would have been the departed bassist for Metallica, Cliff Burton’s 59th birthday.
The beloved musician and integral member of the forefathers of thrash would tragically lose his life at just 24 years old, an unfortunate victim of a horrific bus accident while Metallica was on tour in support of their seminal Master of Puppets album.
Celebrating his birthday and the impact that Burton had both personally and professionally, Cliff Burton Day will exist as a virtual gathering for fans across the globe.
Host by film director Nicholas Gomez and the virtual broadcast via TWITCH will feature former Metallica cohorts Fred Cotton and James McDaniel of Spastik Children, Metal Church guitarist John Marshall, Sean Killian of Vio-lence, and former of Megaforce Records mainstay Metal Maria – the label which released Metallica’s albums: Kill ’Em All (1983) and the iconic Ride The Lightning.
The Cliff Burton Family is also offering the official Cliff Burton Day 2021 t-shirt with proceeds benefiting the Cliff Burton Scholarship Fund. Orders can be placed – HERE
Cliff Burton Day 2021 begins online at 7pm PST on February 10th. The broadcast will move to Youtube for fans that miss the initially stream.
