Corey Taylor fires on all cylinders for the start of his solo CMF2 tour

It is incredible to see someone thrive in the role they were likely born to have. Such is the case every time Corey Taylor sets onstage. Few people have the kind of charisma and comfort with stepping into the spotlight and yet this is where Taylor excels – as a performer, songwriter, storyteller and master of ceremonies.

Kicking off the first week of his extensive CMF2 tour, Taylor pulled up the brakes for a set in Kansas City, MO – playing host for a packed house at the Uptown Theatre along with UK disruptors, Wargasm. Showcasing selections from his pending solo full length, CMF2, Taylor delivered memorable renditions of new favorites like “Post Traumatic Blues”, “Beyond” and his latest scorcher, “Talk Sick”.

Intuitively feeling the fans, Taylor made sure to include the hits, roping in both Slipknot and Stone Sour essentials into his stagetime. Mandatory tracks like “Before I Forget” and “Duality” were paired with staples like “Through Glass”, “Absolute Zero”, and a stirring rendition of “Bother” that underscored the depth of Taylor’s live command.

Closing out with a timeless cover of Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades” to further flex his pedigree, Taylor left no doubt that he remains one of the best to ever do it.
