Get a first look at the second seasons of the Star Wars spinoff series.

Last week, The Mandalorian made headlines when it finally announced the arrival date of the second season. The show’s cast and c-creator Jon Favreau are now revealing details as to what fans can expect for the next installment of the Star Wars spinoff.

As featured in the Entertainment Weekly exclusive, Favreau discussed how the parallel storyline format of Game of Thrones had a big impact on him as an audience member and how that would play into the next season of The Mandalorian.

Favreau explained, “We’re bringing a lot more scope to the show. Everything gets bigger, the stakes get higher, but also the personal story between the Child and the Mandalorian develops in a way I think people will enjoy.”

The Mandalorian himself, Pedro Pascal revealed that the second season will pick up right where the first seasons left off. As Mando and the Child set out on a quest for his own kind, the duo face peril that will test the Mandalorian’s perseverance. “We start very directly after the first [season] and he’s going into very dangerous territory,” Pascal, says. “He is very much a passenger to the experience in unexpected ways — not knowing what’s to come, not knowing how much or how best to protect the Child.

The roster of the season’s contributing directors include Favreau himself, Robert Rodriguex, Carl Weathers and Rick Famuyiwa. The first episodes will focus primarily on Mando with a bigger cast of characters evolving as the season progresses.

As for the series antagonist, Gideon, played by Giancarlo Esposito, will face off with Mando and showcase his ability with his Darksaber. In fact, Esposito hinted as a face-off with Baby Yoda that will certainly be the talk of the second season should it come to fruition.

Season 2 of The Mandalorian begins streaming on October 30th via Disney+. See some of the first images from the latest installment below.
