The Santa Cruz antagonists document one of their biggest tours to date on a diverse bill that blurs genre and generational divides.
Even prior to the release of the band’s lauded late 2021 full length debut, How Flowers Grow, the Santa Cruz hardcore collective of Scowl had established their presence as one of the genre’s most formative emerging forces. Contrasting a flowery aesthetic with a fiery, frenetic musicality, Scowl straddles a stylistic sense of timelessness while exemplifying modern punk with it’s outside box MO.
Of the most widely-shared singles from the debut LP, “Seeds to Sow” and “Bloodhound” assert Scowl versatility – spanning a spectrum that ranges from 90’s-era college rock alt to distorted-bass Bay area punk all in the same presentation of tunes.
Anchored by the prowess of vocalist Kat Moss, Scowl needed only a few years to make the kind of impact that saw the band level up from DIY, no barricade shows to capturing the collective fascination of the heavy world. In addition to the band’s hardcore acumen and relentless work ethic, Scowl saw their songs resonating with fans in part because of the authenticity that rings apparent. From personal testimonials of betrayal to scathing social commentary, these songs aren’t just catchy AF musically – they speak true with equal bite and effectiveness.
It’s that balance of style, grace, and guts that landed the band one of their biggest tours to date, supporting Limp Bizkit on a pre-summer big-room trek across the U.S. Graduating to the arena stage, Scowl will step foot and spit their venom on the hallowed grounds of legendary venues like Madison Square Garden – spreading their gospel of modernized hardcore to an unsuspecting fanbase that will almost assuredly become converts.
Chronicling the excitement of such a pivotal moment in the band’s career, Scowl have opened up their camera roll to share with Knotfest for a first-hand glimpse of the day-to-day while on the road. Between long haul pit stops, early load-in and capacity arena shows, the following offers a real look at what happens before and after each gig.

Scowl will spend the summer trekking both home and abroad. The band’s tour supporting Limp Bizkit wraps Mid-May on the 15th in Baltimore, MD. The band will then head out on a nearly 30-date club run with Destroy Boys before heading overseas for highly-anticipated appearances at the UK’s Outbreak Fest and Germany’s Full Force Fest.
