The pop-up gallery features a curated collection of artwork, photos, handwritten lyrics, promo items, and more to celebration the band’s collaboration capsule.
Last week, Deftones and Heaven by Marc Jacobs launched a limited collaboration capsule that incited much fanfare. In fact, the band even performed a rare intimate show for all of 650 fans at the Music Hall in Williamsburg, NY to officially kick off the release of the line.
The purveyors of Y2K-chic in Heaven by Marc Jacobs recruited Florida Streetwear brand, Stray Rats to execute the spring capsule along with the trailblazing Sacto band at the creative helm.
Among the pieces included in the launch feature iconic Deftones/Frank Maddocks artwork like a White Pony crewneck, an Around the Fur tee and skull-emblazoned hoodie referencing the band’s 2003 self-titled album – among additional cut-and-sew items and even a reboot of Deftones beloved SACTO windbreaker.
Along with the launch of the capsule, Heaven by. Marc Jacobs is going all in on Deftones with a month long exhibition at the Heaven Fairfax store gallery in Los Angeles. Launching in tandem with the collection, the exhibition began March 3rd and stretches through April 4th.
The exhibition features a retrospective collection of album art, handwritten lyrics, promotional posters, photography, artifacts and even some of the band’s earliest merch designs, bringing into focus the band’s first decade. Aligning with the theme of the capsule, the exhibition serves well in reminding fans just how ahead of the curve Deftones has always been, not just in terms of their sound, but their aesthetic as well.
The Deftones exhibition by Heaven by Marc Jacobs lasts through April 4th at Heaven Fairfax in Los Angeles. Check the gallery of images from Maurice Nunez below.
