The collection features Marvel icons Wolverine, Thanos, Deadpool and Venom with Maiden artwork from “Killers”, “Fear Of The Dark” and “The Trooper”.
In a joint effort that no one say coming but now seems long-overdue, Marvel has joined forces with heavy metal icons Iron Maiden for a collaboration merchandise capsule. The collection will feature staples of the Marvel universe combined with the definitive aesthetic of Iron Maiden – and naturally, Eddie will be featured front and center.
Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood shared, “Eddie has long stood shoulder to shoulder with the greatest superheroes and we’re also pretty proud of the worlds we created for his many incarnations – from battlefields to Egyptian tombs to frozen icescapes or futuristic cities.”
Smallwood continues, “Juxtaposing some of the most recognizable characters in pop art and comic book culture into planet Maiden has been an ambition of ours for years and working with Marvel and their unparalleled character-based IP is the perfect fit in this day and age.
“To see such iconic characters alongside Eddie is something our fans have discussed for years and we think that the twist of placing Venom, Thanos, Thor or Deadpool in our Maiden worlds will excite fans of both cultures.”
The designs will feature pillars of the Marvel Universe including the likes of Thanos, Venom, and Deadpool depicted with the unmistakable artwork of Maiden essentials like, “Killers”, “Fear Of The Dark” and “The Trooper”. Arguably the item that best defines the spectrum of the collaboration pits the Senjutsu Samurai version of Eddie with the X-Men’s Wolverine in a t-shirt that will no doubt become a collector’s item.
