Photographer Jarrod Anthonee documents the caravan of crash featuring Megadeth, Lamb of God, Trivium and In Flames.
The co-headlining run of Megadeth and Lamb of God in the Metal Tour of the Year delivered on caravan’s namesake in 2021. Proven as one of the hottest ticket of the season, the trek paired two of the genre’s biggest, most decorated contributors in a metallic rock revelry that was so effective, it had to happen again.
The initial leg of the cross-country trek spanned some 28-dates and saw the tandem of Megadeth and Lamb of God hold court over a combined total of over 172,000 passionate metal fans.
The resounding success of the 2021 installment of Metal Tour of the Year sealed a second leg of the tour set to roar back in 2022. Headed again by Megadeth and Lamb of God, Trivium have returned as special guests, with the tour’s initial fourth, In Flames, kicking off the festivities of the second stretch.
The 21-date run kicked off over the weekend in Sin City to a capacity arena in an evening that celebrated heavy culture from the opening notes to the closing crescendo. Capturing the sights, the sounds and the spectacle of the run, photographer Jarrod Anthonee has submitted a first-hand visual account of the enormity of Metal Tour of the Year.
