The Billboard Music Awards has unveiled their list of 2021 nominees and the roster of included artists features a mesh of legendary names and bonafide superstars.
Among the artists earning high praise with award nods include the legendary AC/DC for their 2020 reunion album in Power Up, as well as Machine Gun Kelly’s pop-punk transformation with the Travis Barker-assisted, Tickets To My Downfall.
Also included in the ranks with regards to the ‘Top Rock Artist’ category is Five Finger Death Punch who made their Better Noise Music debut in early 2020 with their F8 album. The release was the final with former guitarist Jason Hook and the first with drummer Charlie Engen.
The rock categories for The Billboard Music Awards are rounded out with names spanning the rock spectrum. From Bruce Springsteen, Miley Cyrus, AJR, twenty one pilots, All Time Low, Glass Animals, Maroon 5, BTS, and country sensation Dan + Shay.
The 2021 installment of the Billboard Music Awards broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles May 23 at 8PM ET/ 5PM PT on NBC. The criteria for this year’s awards are based on the chart period of March 21, 2020 through April 3, 2021.
