The 27-date conquest enlists an epic supporting roster in Carcass, Obituary and Cattle Decapitation.
Charging towards the August 5th arrival of their twelfth full length studio album in The Great Heathen Army, Viking metal champions Amon Amarth have confirmed their conquest of North America with the announcement of The Great Heathen Tour set for November and December of this year.
Encompassing some 27-dates and kicking off on November 11th in Sin City Las Vegas, NV., the campaign enlists a legendary line-up of supporting artists. Among the roster includes extreme metal pillars Carcass, Florida death metal stalwarts Obituary and deathgrind veterans Cattle Decapitation – rounding out a stacked bill that makes for one of the most impressive touring packages on the year.
In addition to punctuating what will no doubt be a historic year for Amon Amarth, The Great Heathen Tour will conclude emphatically with a grand finale in Los Angeles that will include the band’s full European production – showcasing the complete spectacle to conclude the North American run supporting The Great Heathen Army and Amon Amarth’s first U.S. campaign since 2019. Holding court on the hallowed grounds of The Forum in Inglewood, Amon Amarth will make history as the first death metal band to ever headline the storied rock music landmark.
The band shared the following of the tour announcement. “North America, the Great Heathen Army is coming for you this Fall! We have been away for a long time and now we return to raid with the death metal event of the year! We will be sacking cities across the continent with our good friends Carcass, Obituary and Cattle Decapitation. We intend to bring a big show and give you a night that you won’t easily forget. Miss this at your own peril…”
Jeff Walker of Carcass added, Carcass is looking forward to its first proper US Tour for…six years??? Can It really be that long??? We can’t think of a stronger tour or killer line up for us to be part of……it’s gonna be a RAGER!”
Obituary shared how the response was immediate when Amon Amarth asked them to join, “We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this tour! When we got word that our good friends Amon Amarth asked for Obituary to join them here in North America, there was no hesitation, just an immediate yes! We are honored to share the stage and some cold beers with them again along with our longtime friends Carcass and San Diego brothers Cattle Decapitation! If this lineup doesn’t get you excited, check your pulse cause you may be dead!”
The Cattle Decapitation collective weighed in on the heft of the line-up, “We are thrilled to get back out on the road in the US and especially with such a stacked lineup! It’s going to be a killer run and an honor to perform every night alongside these legends.”
