Currently steamrolling towards the February 17th arrival of their ninth studio album ninth album Dance Devil Dance, theatric Swedish metal outfit Avatar have confirmed a North American tour in support of the album and have enlisted Veil of Maya and Orbit Culture as hefty support.
The band offered the first glimpse of their latest chapter in 2022, revealing the mammoth single, “Valley of Disease” and most recently previewed the LP with the single, “The Dirt I’m Buried In”. Avatar spent a sizable portion of 2022 on the road, headlining shows with Light the Torch, joining Iron Maiden in South America and an teaming for an arena run with the war-heavy, Sabaton.
The album was recorded in the Swedish wilderness, working in seclusion with producer Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Mr. Bungle, Crobot, Stone Sour, Amon Amarth, Uriah Heep). The introduction of the project also confirms the collaboration with Lzzy Hale of Halestorm that punctuates the album. “Violence No Matter What” is described as a powerhouse track, a duet with Hale that serves to bring the metal’s circus show to a dramatic close.
While Avatar had already confirmed a 26-date European run in support of Dance Devil Dance with Veil of Maya, Kassogtha, and Mastiff which will coincide with the release of the album, the band has bolstered their touring itinerary with a North American. The Dance Devil Dance tour is slated to begin April 28th and will include two festival plays at Welcome to Rockville in Florida and Sonic Temple in Columbus, OH.
Tickets are set to go on-sale Friday January 27th at 10am local time. Knotfest will host a special pre-sale event which will begin Wednesday January 25th at 10am ET and run through Thursday January 26th until 10pm local time. Access to the KNOTFEST.com pre-sale – HERE
