Along with Naomi Macleod of Botch Falcon and renowned drummer Dave Lombardo, the first single launches an all out assault.
Last week, the eagerly-anticipated passion project from Simon Neil and Mike Vennart of Biffy Clyro, Empire State bastard, announced the band has signed with Roadrunner Records to release their first delivery of music.
Ahead of their sold out intimate shows at the end of the month in Glasgow, Manchester and London, the band has also made good on the teased arrival of new music in the form of “Harvest” – the pulverizing introduction that showcases the tandem attack of Simon Neil’s venomous vocal performance and Mike Vennart’s embrace of extreme metal on guitar.
Completed by the addition of Naomi Macleod of Bitch Falcon on bass and legendary percussionist Dave Lombardo behind the drums, there is an air of avant garde a la Fantomas on the track that makes this an important debut.
The band said of the track, “Empires fall, States rise, B*stards sing…it’s Harvest time mother*ckers!”
The band also recruited Radio 1 Rock Show host Daniel P Carter, to craft the artwork for the introductory single. Carter described the track as “a blistering noise/metal assault.”
Having sold out all of their initial three shows for later this month, Empire State Bastard have additionally confirmed their festival season plans with appearances at Download Festival, HellFest, 2000trees and ArcTanGent for this year.
