Blink-182 reunite with classic line-up and enlist Turnstile for first tour since 2015

Posted by Ramon Gonzales in News on October 11, 2022

The band has unveiled a world tour and announced a new album is in the works with the first single arriving this week.

Pop-punk mainstays Blink-182 have announced the return of founding member Tom DeLonge as the trio has unveiled plans for a 2023 world tour that will touch down in Latin America, the US and Canada, throughout Europe and finish in Australia and New Zealand. In addition, the band have confirmed that anew album is in the works, with the first single, “Edging” set to drop Friday, October 14th.

The band’s North American arena run will begin next spring and will feature support from hardcore phenoms Turnstile – a pairing that speaks to the kind of enduring appeal Blink has with generations of fans. Globally, the run will include support from Wallows in Latin America (Blink’s first career trek to that region), The Story So Far for the UK/EU stretch, and Rise Against in Australia and New Zealand. Blink has also confirmed they will headline the 2023 edition of When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas next October.

The announcement marks the first joint effort with what is considered to be the classic line-up of Blink-182 since 2015. It was then that DeLonge and the remaining members of Blink went through a very public divorce – with conflicting reports with the band saying DeLonge quit, and DeLonge saying he was ousted. In the subsequent years, Blink would go onto release two more albums with Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio taking on DeLonge’s duties.

In the subsequent years, DeLonge continued with Angels and Airwaves, in addition to his work as a credible UFO researcher. He starred in the History Channel’s Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation and directed the forthcoming sci-fi feature film, Monsters of California. Travis Barker became ubiquitous as the premiere drummer in the world of hip hop. In addition to his many guest appearances, Barker flourished as a producer in his own right, helming projects like H09909’s 2022 LP, SKIN. Mark Hoppus endured a battle with cancer, braving treatment and beating the odds. It was during the turbulent time that the first reports of the three coming back together began to surface.
