Celebrate International Day of Slayer with Slayer: The Repentless Killogy

The International Day of Slayer is one of metal music’s long standing traditions.

For the last 18 years, June 6th has become a rallying cry for Slayer fans across the globe. The International Day of Slayer is one of metal music’s long standing traditions. In years past, fans were encouraged to skip work, skip school, skip the daily grind and crank Slayer at ungodly levels and revel in the ferocity of thrash music’s finest. With the current pandemic, fans needed a way to party, albeit safely. Slayer had the fix.

Starting at midnight June 6th, the band is making their motion picture Slayer:  The  Repentless Killogy available via video on demand. This is the first time the film has been released anywhere since it’s theatrical and DVD/Blu-Ray release back in November. Fans can stream the film from the comfort of their homes for $6.66USD with 50% of the proceeds, donated on behalf of Slayer, Nuclear Blast and Global Merchandising Services, earmarked for Live Nation’s Crew Nation charity to help support live music road crew members who have been directly impacted as a result of COVID-19.

Part One of Slayer:  The Repentless Killogy was written and directed by BJ McDonnell, who conceived and directed the three brutal music videos – “You Against You,” “Repentless,” and “Pride in Prejudice”-  for Slayer’s final studio album Repentless (2015).  The film opens with the three music videos assembled as one chronological storyline, and then segues into a present-time narrative written and filmed especially for this motion picture.  Part One stars many of the actors who appeared in the original video series: Jason Trost (“Beats of Rage,” “Hatchet III”), as Wyatt,  Danny Trejo (“Machete,” “From Dusk Til Dawn”), Richard Speight (“Band of Brothers,” “Supernatural”), Derek Mears (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Jessica Pimentel (“Orange Is The New Black”), Tyler Mane (“X-Men,” “Halloween !!”), Bill Moseley (“The Devil’s Rejects,” “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2”), Caroline Williams (“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2,” “Sharknado 4”), and Sean Whalen (“Twister,” “The People Under The Stairs”).

Part two features Slayer’s August 5th, 2017 headlining set at the storied Los Angeles Forum. This portion of the film is directed by Wayne Isham. Some two years later, The Forum would be the site of the band’s final two nights of their Farewell Tour. Among the essentials performed include “South of Heaven,” “War Ensemble,” “Mandatory Suicide,” “Dead Skin Mask,” “Raining Blood,” and “Angel of Death.”
