The new album showcases enhanced audio of the band’s stripped-down UNDER THE SKIN livestream.
Arguably setting the bar for the streaming platform during the ongoing pandemic, Code Orange were among the first to embrace the model with their Last Ones Left, In Fear of The End livestream.
The hour-long performance combined cinematic imagery and Code Orange’s notoriously impassion ate live show to create a presentation that reaffirmed existing fans and certainly reached new ones.
Building upon the success of the first production, the band would announce a second streaming event in Under the Skin. Embracing the aesthetic of the formative MTV Unplugged era, Code Orange performed a stripped-down version of their set, albeit no less compelling.
The reimagined renditions of Code Orange’s catalog reiterated the band’s versatility – if there was any uncertainty as to how such heavy songs would translate ‘unplugged,’ Under the Skin asserted that Code Orange are not to be pigeonholed.
The band has announced that the Under The Skin livestream will be released as a stand-alone album featuring enhanced audio of the landmark event. The 14-track collection also includes the band’s homage to their predecessors, with Code Orange performing the Alice In Chains-classic, “Down In A Hole.”
Under the Skin is set for release on September 4th. The band has also launched limited edition merch coupled with the release of the album, as well as a DVD capturing the visual element of the innovative performance. The album and merch can be purchased on the band’s website.
