The blistering track serves as the band’s third single from their forthcoming Nuclear Blast full length, Heavy Steps.
Staring down the arrival date of January 21st of the new year, metallic hardcore collective Comeback Kid has recruited one of metal’s leading voices in Joe Duplantier of Gojira for the third single from their highly-anticipated seventh full length, Heavy Steps.
“Crossed” delivers a thorough clobbering packed into a 3-minute assault. Following the album’s introductory singles in “No Easy Way Out” and the titular “Heavy Steps,” the Duplantier-assisted track adds to the strength of an already combustible collection of tracks for the band’s Nuclear Blast Records release. Enlisting the production expertise of John Paul Peters (CANCER BATS, PROPAGANDHI) and Grammy-Award winner Will Putney, the band’s impact on the landscape of metallic hardcore is once again reiterated in the 11-track offensive.
Comeback Kid frontman Andrew Neufeld comments, “Crossed is a no-frills metallic hardcore track. Lyrically it deals with someone in my life that seemed so far gone and I had to watch them dig themselves further and further into a low and unrealistic place. ‘Crossed into the void’ so to say. We enlisted Joe from GOJIRA to represent somewhat of an overlord menacing presence in the song. An overshadowing power via his blood-curdling scream. This song is direct and to the point about staying in reality and warns of the elements that could bring us further into darkness.”
In advance of the band’s January release, COMEBACK KID begin their West Coast 2021 tour with NO WARNING in Las Vegas on December 6th. The 9-date trek will include performances in San Diego and Los Angeles’ For The Children Festival before concluding in Seattle on December 16th! ZULU and SCOWL are confirmed as the supporting artists on what promises to be a pulverizing night in the pit at each tour stop.
Additionally, Comeback Kid will begin 2022 with a run of dates in the UK and Europe. The band is confirmed to play a handful of shows in Ontario with Cancer Bats and A Wilhelm Scream in March 2022. A complete list of tour dates, can be seen below.
