The visual also marks the christening of guitarist Andrew Wells as a full time member of the band.
With less than a month before the live return of the band’s celebrated gathering in Swanfest set to takeover their hometown of Sacramento, cult champions Dance Gavin Dance have shared their first presentation of new music in two years with the arrival of “Synergy”.
The single proves especially significant in a few ways. Apart from ushering in the next era of the band, the single also features a guest assist from Don Broco frontman Rob Damiani and begins the official tenure of guitarist Andrew Wells as a fully-fledged member of Dance Gavin Dance.
DGD drummer Matt Mingus spoke with enthusiasm in introducing the track to fans. “We hope you check out our new track ‘Synergy’. This song features all the components that are required for a tasty DGD treat. Epic technical guitars, catchy melodies, and groovy drum parts! Be sure to also check out the music video that accompanies it and enjoy!”
The release of “Synergy” begins what will no doubt be a banner year fro Dance Gavin Dance with a packed itinerary full of live dates, beginning April 23rd with the return of the band’s own festival, Swanfest. The first event back in three years will see DGD headline, bolstered by performances by Animals As Leaders, Knocked Loose, Movements and many more.
Dance Gavin Dance will then begin their spring nationwide run with Memphis May Fire, Volumes and Moontooth. After a brief reset, DGD will again get back in the saddle for a summer amphitheater tour, joining Coheed & Cambria for a U.S. run that stretching through the late weeks of summer.
