The 20th anniversary of the band’s seminal album rolls on with another unique offering in a very limited anejo tequila from the award-winning, Abre Ojos.
Deftones have been rolling out a series of projects all marking the 20th anniversary milestone of their seminal album, ‘White Pony’.
Thus far, the festivities have included the band’s ongoing craft beer collaboration with Belching Beaver and the release of a limited edition White Pony anniversary beer. Deftones also unveil the remix album twenty years in the making with, Black Stallion, that saw each track on ‘White Pony’ remixed by the likes of Robert Smith of The Cure, DJ Shadow, Mike Shinoda, Phantogram, Purity Ring and more,
Now, the band is getting into the spirits game and teaming with Abe Ojos to launch a limited release White Pony Añejo tequila. The award-winning purveyor of quality craft tequila shares, “The limited-edition Añejo was handcrafted in the town of Tequila, Jalisco. It is aged up to two years in American Oak used whiskey barrels creating caramel, vanilla, hazelnut and chocolate notes. The buttery taste ends with a smoky, mature flavor. It is meant to sip and enjoy.”
Pulling back the curtain, the band shares, “Continuing our White Pony 20th year celebration, we are very excited to share that our White Pony tequila, in collaboration with Abre Ojos Tequila, is hitting retailers this Monday (March 15th). With notes of caramel, vanilla and toasted graham cracker, only 2,880 bottles of this special “Anniverario” añejo have been produced.
