The tour will also feature a supporting set from Kataklysm performing their 2004 LP, Serenity In Fire in full.
Death metal legends, Deicide, have announced a run of dates for the end of the summer celebrating the 30th anniversary of their sophomore album, Legion. The band will perform the entire album with additional tracks from their entire discography. They will be joined by Kataklysm, who will be performing their 2004 album, Serenity in Fire, and newcomers, Inhuman Condition.
The tour will kick off on August 11th in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at Chelsea’s Live and wrap up on September 10th in Tampa, Florida.
Deicide’s debut album was the stuff of nightmares for many people with its over the top Satanic image and lyrics. The band continued their Satanic assault with Legion, but in a more technical and ambitious way. The band considers Legion to be their most difficult, and has claimed it to be too chaotic and it has been the source of both frustration and massive accomplishment over the years.
Two months ago, Deicide announced the addition of guitarist Taylor Nordberg (The Absence, Inhuman Condition) to the band. Nordberg joined Deicide as the replacement for Chris Cannella, who left after a three-year run with the band.
Vocalist/bassist Glen Benton said in a statement: “We are pleased to announce and welcome Taylor Nordberg to the Deicide family! An amazing and accomplished guitarist who takes our sound to the next level and brings a profound level of professionalism that completes and compliments the DEICIDE machine!”
Cannella said in a separate statement: “Yes, it is true. I am no longer in Deicide. There is no drama and we all kept it quiet as to not lead into drama or speculation.
“I have all the love and respect for Glen, Steve and Kevin. I had so many great times over the last three years I cherish for a lifetime, especially the friendship.
“Cheers to all and thanks for all the love and support. I’m excited for what’s to come.”
