Dr. Dre in ICU after suffering a brain aneurysm

The megaproducer and hip hop pioneer is reportedly “stable and lucid” though still in the hospital recovering.

UPDATE: Dr. Dre shared a message via Instagram to his fans assuring everyone that he is doing fine and currently recuperating following his aneurysm.

Dre wrote, “Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”

According to a report filed by TMZ, hip hop pioneer and legendary producer Dr. Dre has suffered a brain aneurysm and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Los Angeles’ Cedar Sinai Medical Center.

According the the same report, sources cite that Dre is both “stable and lucid” however he remains under observation and will undergo a battery of tests to find out what the cause of the aneurysm was.

The man with the Midas Touch for artists ranging from Eminem to Tupac would go onto to establish the Beats Electronics with business partner and music mogul Jimmy Iovine. The company would sell in 2013 to Apple in a deal that Forbes Magazine called, “the biggest single-year payday of any musician in history.”

Andre Young first gained fame as a member of The World’s Most Dangerous Group alongside Easy-E, Ice Cube, MC Sen and DJ Yella during his tenure with N.W.A. He would later go onto become an established solo artist and eventually a mega producer responsible for the likes of Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Eminem.
