The single is the third from the band’s forthcoming ninth studio record.
Hardcore champions Every Time I Die have offered their third single from the band’s currently holstered ninth studio album.
Late last year, the band debuted a double sampling of the effort with a pair of singles in “Desperate Pleasures” and “A Colossal Wreck”. The reveal gave fans their first taste of new music from the band since their universally lauded 2016 LP, Low Teens.
Recently, Every Time I Die participated along with Cave In for the inaugural Splitsville livestream event helmed by heavy metal masterminds, Two Minutes to Late Night. The uniquely formatted production showcased ETID performing a Cave In track, and Cave in taking on an ETID jaunt. Complete with collaborative merch designs and a limited edition 7-inch vinyl release of the covers, Splitsville had a hell of a kick off.
Now, Every Time I Die have continued their slow build of momentum with the unveiling of “AWOL” – a fiery 2-minute flurry that waste no time in going for the throat. The band has expressed that this particular album is among their very best and tracks like this reiterate that very statement.
As for what the forecast looks like, Keith Buckley is still uncertain, but hopeful. “Every Time I Die all in one way or another worried about the future of the music industry. But I personally believe once this is over, musicians will be essential labor. [Every Time I Die are] sitting on the best record of our lives. We’re anxious to get back on the road. We’re missing each other and the experiences we have together, and we’re trying to stay positive.”
