Ex-Bad Wolves frontman Tommy Vext files lawsuit against former manager citing racism and political views led to his dismissal

The lawsuit claiming breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty comes with a big number of $10 million dollars.

While the tone of the split between Tommy Vext and rock outfit Bad Wolves was at least amicable on the surface, it would seem as though the time to be polite has since gone away.

Vext has filed a lawsuit against former manager, Allen Kovac – who also serves as the founder and CEO of the band’s record label, Better Noise Music. Vext’s lawsuit asserts breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty stemming from his dismissal from Bad Wolves earlier this year. Vext is suing his former manager and record label to the hefty tune of $10 million dollars.

Among the particularly egregious allegations included in the lawsuit that was reported comprehensively by TMZ, industry veteran co-founder of Bad Wolves intended on ousting the vocalist from the band over his political ideologies and his open support for then, President Donald Trump. Vext claims that Kovac used his leverage to have the band pulled from radio and streaming services as a means to expedite the singer’s removal from the band. Vext further claims that Kovac used racial slurs and told Vext he was not “black enough” to front the band.

Kovac has since responded publicly to the claims from Vext saying, “I am disappointed to see these accusations from Tommy against me, 10th Street Management and Better Noise Music.  They are categorically false.  In 40 years in the music business, I have never made any derogatory racist comments, been accused of doing so, or been sued by an artist.  Tommy Vext, a self-proclaimed QAnon supporter, has dragged us into a ridiculous, unfounded narrative that falsely paints him as a victim.”

Kovac’s statement continues, “Behind the scenes, he and his team of lawyers have been trying to extort the band and the record company for a big payout.  Because these tactics were not successful, he upped the ante and filed this bogus and spurious lawsuit to get leverage in contract negotiations.  But this strategic ploy won’t work.  We will not be extorted; and will defend and defeat these phony claims in court.”

Vext’s departure from the band was said to be somewhat amicable, however his split followed a particular turbulent stretch that included the singer’s divisive public persona online – at one point even asserting that the United States does not have a problem with racism. Vext was also involved in legal trouble that involved domestic abuse allegations that resulted in a former girlfriend being granted a restraining order against the outspoken frontman.
