The compilation of collaborative tracks include selections with Ghostemane, Youth Code, Perturbator, and JPEGMAFIA as well as the new single, “CYBERPUNK 2.0.2.0”
Health have announced a compilation of their collaborative efforts purposed as a complete album called Disco4:: Part I.
“In the past each HEALTH LP has been accompanied by a corresponding remix record,” say the band. “This time, despite being called DISCO 4 in the interest of continuity, we offer you a collection of original collaborations with artists we admire. Also, FUCK 2020.”
The news follows the band’s recent most collaboration with Maryland’s Full of Hell. The menacing track, “Full of Health,” was a collision of styles that meshed so well, it’s frustrating that it took this long to see it come to fruition.
Among the included efforts on the album are HEALTH’s recorded work with JPEGMAFIA, Perturbator, Youth Code and Ghostemane, as well as the previously mentioned Full of Hell track.
The album also includes new material, with tracks created with Brothel, The Soft Moon, and 100 gecs. Coupled with the announcement of the October 16th release on Loma Vista Recordings, HEALTH has release a new single from the compilation that does not feature any guests.
“CYBERPUNK 2.0.2.0” showcases HEALTH’s ominously lush balance of influences that range from industrial, noise, and shoegaze. The result is a unique sound that translates as sincere and stylishly sinister. The visual directed by Zev Deans, serves well in complimenting the track – collecting surveillance footage with a particularly dystopian feel.
