The arrival of the reissue is set for October 10th which is also National Album Day.
Pioneering heavy metal pillars Iron Maiden have announced plans to reissue their eponymous debut record on October 10th.
The celebration will mark the 40th anniversary of the release of the record and will add to the festivities of National Album Day.
The special release will be pressed on 12” picture vinyl and released via Parlophone Records. The record features the classic line-up of original vocalist Paul Di’Anno, Steve Harris on bass, Dave Murray and Dennis Stratton helming the guitars and Clive Burr on behind the drum kit.
The album’s description rattles off stats that include, “four decades, sixteen studio albums, over 90 million album sales and more than 2000 concerts,” to frame the band’s illustrious career.
Their debut, which includes essential tracks like “Phantom of the Opera” and the title track, “Iron Maiden,” propelled the release to hit number 4 on the UK album charts upon its release.
