The news was revealed during the band’s free global streaming event broadcast via VEEPS.
Foo Fighters have revealed the bittersweet news of who will handle the drums for the band moving forward following the tragic passing of Taylor Hawkins last year.
Hosting a free, global livestreaming event with digital specialists VEEPS simply called their Preparing Music For Concerts livestream, Foo Fighters performed new material and familiar favorites with none other than Josh Freese behind the kit.
The venerated drummer whose resume spans the likes of The Vandals, DEVO, Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle in addition to extensive touring work with Paramore, Sublime with Rome, and Weezer just to name a few.
Freese was confirmed as the Foos touring drummer via the stream, but not before a few various cameos from the likes of Tommy Lee of Motley Crue, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Danny Carey Tool drawing out the tease.
During the livestream, the band played Foo Fighters essentials and previewed new songs likely to make the setlist for the band’s run of live dates in support of their June 2nd full length, But Here We Are.
