The three-day event will take place in September and will feature an impressive collection of artists spanning from metalcore, hardcore, and punk.
It has been about a full calendar year since the world has hit pause on live music. An unending list of events, festivals, and tours have been decorated as a result of pandemic restrictions in a year that has hit the music industry especially hard.
With the rollout of three different vaccines and falling infection numbers, loosening restrictions are affording for some return to a life comparable what things looked like prior to the pandemic.
Another example of that prevalent, albeit cautious optimism, is the recent unveiling of massive three-day line up for the Sept. 24-26 destination of Furnace Fest in Birmingham, AL.
The expanded event will now feature three days worth of artists spanning the hardcore, metalcore, punk, and alternative heavy music universe. Among the bands anchoring the showcase include the likes of Killswitch Engage, Underoath, Every Time I Die, Andrew W.K., Hatebreed, Turnstile, Converge, August Burns Red, Knocked Loose, and a ridiculous amount more.
Existing ticketholders that purchased a ticket for the 2020 event will be able to use that ticket to gain admission into the 2021 installment. Fans looking for a refund can do so by emailing greenlight@freshtix.com by the April 2ned deadline.
Making the announcement via social media, the festival emphasized, “We are more confident than ever that Furnace Fest will happen this September. Covid cases are trending down. We have access to three highly effective vaccines with others in development.
Much larger events have either already happened (Super Bowl) or are scheduled for our same timeframe (Riot, Alabama Football, Louder than Life). In a worst-case scenario, we’ll be transparent with you about the possibility of any postponement.”
