Killswitch Engage passion project Times of Grace share teaser for new 2021 LP

Posted by Ramon Gonzales in News on January 20, 2021

The video teaser looks back on the 10th anniversary of the band’s debut, ‘The Hymn Of A Broken Man’ while looking ahead to the highly-anticipated sophomore release dropping this spring.

A decade ago, Killswitch Engage’s Jesse Leach and Adam Dutkiewicz introduced their passion project in Times of Grace with their debut album, The Hymn Of A Broken Man.

The project would usher in a reunion of sorts as just a year after the Times Of Grace debut, Leach would find himself back as the voice of Killswitch Engage following the 2012 departure of former Killswitch frontman, Howard Jones.

During his most recent tenure with Killswitch, Leach along with Dutkiewicz have added three full length studio albums to the KsE catalog with 2013’s Disarm the Descent, the 2016 LP Incarnate, and the band’s most recent jewel in Atonement.

While KsE continues to be a priority, the long-awaited sophomore release under the Times of Grace banner has now gone from lore to reality with the release of a new teaser video feature both Leach and Dutkiewicz.

“This record was born from a dark place,” said Dutkiewicz of the first record. “Both Jesse and I going through difficult times, me being in a hospital bed having emergency surgery on tour and Jesse going through difficult times within his life… Lying in a hospital bed, I focused on writing music in my head instead of dwelling on all the negative things.”

Though the tone of the follow-up feels less bleak, the void caused by the pandemic and the moratorium on touring and live shows offers somewhat similar conditions that fruited the band’s first record.

Though there are currently no more additional details with regards to the album to share, but for the recently published trailer of new ToG music, the band shares a brief sample of the quality of heft expected from the combination of Leach and Dutkiewicz.
