After a decade-long hiatus, the band announces a new album with ‘Songs of Loss and Separation’ and she the lead single, “The Burden of Belief”
The long awaited return of Times of Grace featuring Jesse Leach and Adam Dutkieticz of Killswitch Engage has finally become a reality.
After sharing that the project had again shown signs of movement during the course of the pandemic, the band has officially marked their return with the announcement of their sophomore album that has been some 10 years in the making. Introducing ‘Songs of Loss and Separation,’ with the arrival date of July 16th.
Sharing the lead single and the opening track from the album in “The Burden of Belief,” the selection sets the tone of the effort showcasing Leech’s powerful vocal prowess and Dutkiewicz’s soaring string work.
“This song is the spark of the oncoming fire,” says vocalist Jesse Leach. “It foreshadows the journey of this album. This song is an unveiling of who we, Times of Grace, have become after all of these years. This is a testimony of falling apart, losing faith, letting go, and the desire to kill and purge the past. It is the unraveling, the catharsis and the rebirth. So it begins….”
Guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz adds, “It almost feels strange finally releasing the songs on this record, especially this one. I started writing this song over 10 years ago, so it’s been around for quite some time. I really hope you guys dig it, and I hope we will get the opportunity to play it for you guys live someday. Thanks, everyone!”
Times of Grace made their debut in 2011 with the critically-lauded, The Hymn of a Broken Man. While Dutkiewicz’s primary project in Killswitch Engage had already established a decade as modern metal champions, th music that would ultimately comprise the debut Times of Grace release were songs that materialized while Adam was recovering from extensive back surgery. Enlisting original Killswitch vocalist Jesse Leach, the debut underscored the creative synergy between the two and further cemented their musical relationship. A decade later, the band has returned to again assert their songwriting mastery of heavy music brimming with melody.
‘Songs of Loss and Separation’ arrives July 16th via the band’s own imprint label, Wicked Good Records, and distributed by ADA Worldwide. The band has also launched their refreshed D2C webstore complete with new merch and exclusive vinyl offerings. Check out the webstore – HERE
