The run with Killswitch Engage, Baroness and Suicide Silence invades The Armory on September 28th.
Set for an October 7th arrival date, Lamb of God’s latest full length Omens will coincide with the band’s biggest headlining trek to date with a sprawling 26-date North American engagement in The Omens Tour. Teaming with fellow genre veterans Killswitch Engage, the tandem will mark a full circle moment for American metal music more than twenty years in the making.
Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton explains the importance of the tour’s powerful pairing. “Two decades ago, Lamb of God, along with Killswitch Engage, were a part of a new wave of American heavy metal music. Our scene grew from a small, loosely connected network of underground shows in basements and warehouses, into a global phenomenon that helped define an entire generation of modern heavy metal.”
Morton continued, “We are thrilled to announce The Omens Tour, which celebrates not only the perseverance and impact of that original movement, but also the creativity and originality of the bands that it influenced. Heavy metal is alive and well. The Omens Tour proudly showcases the depth and diversity of our scene. This is not a tour to miss.”
Adding another important stop to the tour’s routed dates, Lamb of God along with Killswitch Engage, Baroness and Suicide Silence will pull up the brakes at The Armory in Minneapolis on September 28th. Tickets for the additional date go on-sale starting Friday June 24th at 10am local time, but fans can access a special pre-sale now by using the code “OMENS” – HERE
Loaded with scathing social commentary and backed by the band’s compositional enormity, Omens is already being characterized as Lamb of God’s most confrontational album of their storied career. The first single, “Nevermore” reaffirms what vocalist D. Randall Blythe explained was the ethos of the album. “The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world. It’s a very pissed-off record.” (pauses for effect)“It is extremely pissed-off.”
