The single lands just one day before embarking on the massive ‘Omens’ tour along with Killswitch Engage and a roster of heavy music’s best.
Less than a month out from unleashing what is being described as the band’s most hostile recorded effort to date, Lamb of God have again asserted their rank among heavy music’s elite with the release of the third preview of Omens in the banger, “Grayscale”.
The track follows the MO of previous cuts from the album in “Nevermore” and the towering title track in reiterating the significance of the pending October 7th release. Decades into their career, Lamb of God have found a new gear of aggression and ambition that underscore why they are regarded as champions of heavy culture.
The meld of Randy Blythe’s venomous vocals, Mark Morton and Willie Adler’s incendiary fretwork, the low end of John Campbell and the charge of Art Cruz from behind the drum kit achieves and menacing stride on the latest single. The band’s guitarist Willie Adler shares how the single is still very indicative of the Lamb of God signature, but colors outside the lines in a way that underscores the versatility of the band.
“‘Grayscale’ has just a smack you in the face, bit of hardcore feel to it. We had basically finished writing the record and I wrote this song thinking it won’t necessarily be a Lamb song. I sent it to Josh Wilbur, our producer, to check out and he responded with ‘Perfect, this is the last song we need for the record!'”
The single lands just one day before Lamb of God heads the Omens tour with along with American metal pioneers, Killswitch Engage. The run features support from a diverse roster including Baroness, Motionless In White, Spiritbox, Animals As Leaders as well as Suicide Silence and Fit For An Autopsy.
Interspersed between Omens headlining dates, Lamb of God will also make appearances at important domestic rock festivals with confirmed appearances at Louder Than Life and Aftershock. Dates and cities can be found below.
