Lorna Shore Shares Harrowing New Single “Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames

Posted by Corinne Westbrook in News on September 14, 2022

The track is the first of a three-part installment dubbed the “Pain Trilogy” exploring the stages of grief within the album, ‘Pain Remains’.

October is creeping ever closer and with it the highly-anticipated new album from Lorna Shore! The follow-up to their explosive EP …And I Return To Nothingness with their current singer Will Ramos, Pain Remains is due out on October 14, 2022 via Century Media Records. Pre-orders are available HERE.

Today they have offered up a soulful and moving track, “Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames” the first of what they call the “Pain Trilogy”. Lorna Shore comments on the upcoming “Pain Trilogy”: “The Pain Trilogy is a three-part tale focusing on the stages of grief and vulnerability and exemplifying it through a love story. The first song, ‘Pain Remains I: Dancing like Flames’ begins with the main character becoming enamored by the person within his dreams. He decides to turn to this reality as a sense of purpose despite knowing that the closer he gets to his goal, the further it seems to drift away.”

The dulcet tones of the opening notes set a level of sadness that carries throughout the track. Naturally, Will Ramos’ visceral vocals amp up the aggression, however, those underlying melodies remain, creating a melancholic atmosphere that, frankly, hits you right in the soul. Ramos brings new elements and surprises to his vocals, further showcasing why he is one of the leading vocalists in metal currently.
