Following the band’s recent conquest of the European festival circuit in addition to the band’s monumental appearance at the 2022 edition of Psycho Las Vegas, metal music pillars Mercyful Fate have announced their first US tour since the 1999 release of their 9 LP.
The latest iteration of the band will see King Diamond, Hank Shermann, Bjarne T. Holm, Mike Wead and bassist Joey Vera touch down in fourteen different US cities spanning from October 25th through November 16th. The trek begins in Dallas, TX at The Factory and concludes in Atlanta, GA at The Tabernacle.
The history making run will mark the band’s first US tour in more than two decades, and adds to the groundswell of momentum coming off their legendary headlining set Psycho Las Vegas last month. Prior to that, the last time fans enjoyed to any iteration of Mercyful Fate live was back in 2011, when most of the band made a special appearance during Metallica’s 30th-anniversary set in San Francisco.
King Diamond issued the following, “These will be the first Mercyful Fate concerts in North American theaters in over twenty years. Memories of a lifetime. Your special chance to see Mercyful Fate with the full European festival production, but up close and personal. You cannot miss this… I hereby respectfully invite you to Come To The Sabbath by which you may free your soul and feast with us in the dark of Night. Witches and Demons, you may come as you are! Satanic Regards – King Diamond 666.“
The Mercyful Fate North American tour will also feature supporting sets from German thrash stalwarts Kreator. Led by the incomparable Mille Petrozza, Kreator recently debuted their landmark fifteenth studio album in Hate Über Alles. Also confirmed for the run is another Psycho Las Vegas standout as Midnight will be out in support of their fifth full length effort, Let There Be Witchery.
