Watch the complete tribute performance featuring Trent Reznor, Mariqueen Maandig Reznor, Atticus Ross, and alumni of Bowie’s band.
Earlier this month, a host of music’s biggest and brightest paid tribute to the life and legacy of David Bowie. Marking the icon’s 74th birthday and the five year anniversary of his untimely passing, among the contributors for the “Just For One Day” streaming event included the likes of Billy Corgan, Peter Frampton, Perry Farrell, Adam Lambert, Yungblud, Lzzy Hale, and the supergroup of Corey Taylor of Slipknot/Stone Sour, Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, and Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction.
Faced with the tall task of executing such an ambitious production with so many working parts, the event was actually delayed a day over Covid concerns. The show would eventually broadcast and despite having to make some adjustments, the tribute was as spectacular as the man in focus.
Among the standout performances of a legendary night included a show of reverence from one of Bowie’s closest friends, Trent Reznor. Flanked by Mariqueen Maandig Reznor and Atticus Ross, the trio join members of Bowie’s band to take on a classic in “Fashion”. Reznor and Rolling Live Studios have now made the complete performance, showcasing all the participants available as initially intended.
Rolling Live Studios issued the following of the release. “Even with COVID restrictions leaving us with a limited crew, the show went on and received great reviews and reception. We worked with the NIN creative camp after the concert livestream cutting together this performance to include the Bowie alumni band members who played with Trent, Mariqueen and Atticus – this is the performance we wanted everyone to see during the livestream and are thrilled you get the chance to now do so.”
Coupled with the release is the continued effort in raising funds for an organization near and dear to Bowie in Save the Children. Fans are encouraged to make a donation to the organization to support their work.
