Ozzy Osbourne teams with Tony Iommi for a legendary collaboration track, “Degradation Rules”

Posted by Ramon Gonzales in News on July 22, 2022

The single marks the first time the duo have collaborated outside of Black Sabbath.

On an album loaded with special guests that reads more like a Hall of Fame induction with names like Taylor Hawkins, Eric Clapton, Josh Homme, Duff McKagan, Chad Smith, Robert Trujillo, Mike McCready, and Chris Chaney included, among the most anticipated songs slated for Ozzy’s newest full length Patient Number 9 is that of “Degradation Rules”.

The track marks the re-teaming of one of metal music’s most iconic duos with Ozzy enlisting the prowess of his Black Sabbath compatriot, guitarist Tony Iommi. The union is especially significant, marking the first time in Ozzy’s solo career that Iommi has been featured on a Prince of Darkness track. Offering shades of Sabbath mastery, the track offers subversive themes, Ozzy’s unmistakable melodies and Iommi’s meaty, down-tempo riffs in a powerhouse track.

The second single from Ozzy’s forthcoming Patient Number 9 lands as Ozzy Osbourne makes his debut at this year’s world renowned San Diego Comic-Con on Friday July 22nd. Joined by Spawn creator and comic book legend Todd McFarlane – the duo will reveal the artwork for the special limited-edition McFarlane designed comic book available with certain Patient Number 9 packages.

Ahead of Comic-Con, the two have revealed an alternative cover for the limited-edition variant of Ozzy’s upcoming Patient Number 9 album, due out September 9th via Epic
