Ozzy Osbourne To Debut At San Diego Comic-Con

The Prince of Darkness and Todd McFarlane will reveal artwork for the limited-edition specially designed comic book coupled with the Ozzy album, ‘Patient Number 9’.

Rock & metal legend Ozzy Osbourne will be making his debut at this year’s world renowned San Diego Comic-Con on Friday July 22nd. He will be joined by Todd McFarlane (The Amazing Spider-Man, Spawn, and many more titles), to reveal the artwork for the special limited-edition McFarlane designed comic book available with certain Patient Number 9 packages. 

There will also be a signing at the Stern Pinball/Rebellion Republic booth, further details of which will be announced soon. Ahead of Comic-Con, the two have revealed an alternative cover for the limited-edition variant of Ozzy’s upcoming Patient Number 9 album, due out September 9th via Epic

In addition to the album art and comic, McFarlane also recently directed Ozzy’s video for title track “Patient Number 9”. A special limited-edition black vinyl with the McFarlane artwork can be pre-ordered here. The highly anticipated release from one of metal’s founding artists, “Patient Number 9” debuted at #1 on Billboard’s “Hot Hard Rock Songs” chart and also tops the “Hard Rock Digital Song Sales” charts. “Patient Number 9” also features a solo from legendary guitarist Jeff Beck.

For the first time ever, Tony Iommi will appear on an Ozzy solo album. The album will also feature: Eric Clapton, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, and, of course, Zakk Wylde. Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers is on the drums for most of the album, while the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters appears on three songs. Robert Trujillo of Metallica plays bass on most of the album’s tracks, with Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction supplying bass on a few songs.
